The Eighth Annual Joint Research Symposium of the China-U.S. Research Center for Life Sciences on Disease Control and Prevention was held in Beijing on October 16, 2015. It was co-organized by the Beijing Institutes of Life Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIOLS, CAS) and University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). More than 100 researchers including PIs and students attended the symposium.

BIOLS president Dr. Le Kang, UNMC vice chancellor for academic affairs Dr. Dele Davies dean for college of Medicine Dr. Brad Britigan gave welcome addresses respectively on the opening ceremony. Fourteen scientists from China and USA shared their new findings on disease control and prevention. All the attendees actively exchanged their opinions on the collaborative plans in the future.
