The CAS-NAS Workshop on Emerging Infections and Global Health Security was held in Beijing on September 29, 2015. It was co-organized by the Beijing Institutes of Life Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIOLS, CAS) and The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NAS). More than 50 researchers attended the workshop.

BIOLS vice president Dr. George F. Gao hosted the workshop. Fifty scientists from China and USA had a panel discussion on emerging infections, laboratory safety, and global health security. It is an important communication activity to strengthen the research of infectious diseases and to ensure the global health security for both sides.
