The symposium on Vaccine Innovation was held in Beijing on December 7, 2012. It was jointly organized by the Beijing Institutes of Life Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIOLS, CAS), China Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and Sanofi Pasteur (SP).  

Dr. Stanley Plotkin from University of Pennsylvania gave a keynote presentation on technologies for vaccine development. More than 40 researchers from CAS, China CDC and pharmaceutical companies attended the symposium. They actively exchanged their views to strengthen the collaborations on vaccine research and development, which will provide great fundamentals for the prevention of the spread of some infectious diseases.
