The symposium on Advanced Summer Training Course of Entomological Theory and Method was held in Beijing on July 12-16, 2013. It was jointly organized by the Beijing Institutes of Life Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIOLS, CAS), State Key Laboratory of Integrated Management of Pest Insects and Rodents in the Institute of Zoology and Overseas Chinese Entomologists Association (OCEA).   

Ten speakers from OCEA and CAS institutes gave presentations on various hot topics in entomology research, such as insect-plant interactions, ecological genomics and molecular ecology of insect, etc. More than 200 students and researchers from institutes of CAS and universities attended the symposium. They had an effective communication on the present research progress and future development of entomology.
