The China-U.K. Symposium on Immunity and Health was held in Beijing on April 13, 2012. It was co-organized by the Beijing Institutes of Life Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIOLS, CAS) and Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). 

BIOLS Vice President Dr. Fu Gao hosted the symposium and delivered the opening remarks. Eleven scientists from China and U.K. gave presentations, and nearly 100 researchers from institutes of CAS, China CDC and universities attended the symposium. The topics of the symposium included the development of the immune system, Innate and adaptive immunities against virus infection, and the regulation of immune cell response, etc. The U.K. scientists visited two national laboratories in the Institute of Microbiology and Institute of Biophysics of the CAS after the symposium.
