The 7th symposium of Beijing Forum of Life Science, Symposium on Global Change Biology, was held in Beijing on May 25, 2010.

The symposium was organized by Beijing Institutes of Life Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIOLS, CAS). More than 100 researchers from CAS and other institutions attended the symposium. 9 scientists gave presentations on a range of topics such as grassland ecosystem carbon balance,terrestrial carbon cycle, population dynamics and climate change, etc.

CAS academician ZHANG Xinshi was the chair of the symposium and joined the round-table discussion with other participants. Most of them believed that it is important to develop global change biology.
