The sixth symposium of Beijing Forum of Life Science – Symposium on Epigenetics was held in Sanya on December 25, 2009.

　　This symposium was organized by Beijing Institutes of Life Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIOLS, CAS) and co-organized by Genetics Society of China. More than 50 scientists from CAS and other institutions attended the symposium, and gave presentations on a range of topics such as DNA methylation, histone modifications and the formation of histone variants.

　　CAS academicians QIANG Boqin and CHEN Runsheng attended the symposium and joined the round-table discussion with other participants. Most of them emphasized the importance of establishing and sharing a sample bank in the field of epigenetics.
