The First Annual Joint Research Symposium of the China-U.S. Research Center for Life Sciences was held in Beijing on October 15, 2008.

　　Dr. LI Jiayang, vice president of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Dr. KANG Le, president of Beijing Institutes of Life Science (BIOLS), CAS, and Dr. Don LEUENBERGER, vice chancellor of University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) attended the opening ceremony of the symposium. Six Chinese scientists and seven US scientists presented their recent findings in neurosciences and immunology. After the presentations, all participants had a lively and stimulating round-table discussion focusing on potential collaborative projects.
