On May 15, Dr. Peter Lewis, vice president of Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, visited Beijing Institutes of Life Science (BIOLS), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Dr. Peter Lewis discussed with BIOLS about collaboration between University of Toronto and BIOLS. The representatives of BIOLS include Dr. Le Kang, president of BIOLS, Dr. George F. Gao, vice president of BIOLS, and Dr. Ming Li and Dr. Ruifeng Su from Division of Scientific Exchanges and Cooperation of BIOLS.
Dr. Kang and Dr. Gao introduced the seven institutes of BIOLS, described the long-term goals of BIOLS, and emphasized the focus of BIOLS on international collaboration. Dr. Lewis presented the research and international communication about Faculty of Medicine in University of Toronto. Then the attendees proposed the collaboration programs between BIOLS and Faculty of Medicine in University of Toronto and discussed the details.
After the meeting, Dr. Lewis visited the Protein Science Core Facility at Institute of Biophysics, the State Key Laboratory of Integrated Pest Management at Institute of Zoology, and China-Japan Joint Laboratory of Molecular Immunology and Molecular Microbiology at Institute of Microbiology.
